3rd party shipping is used on orders to bill the freight charge to you another parties freight account. Suppliers ship at such a high volume that in most cases they will have a much more favorable shipping rate than your freight rate.

Generally corporations request to use a 3rd party account number so that the freight is billed to a different budget then the merchandise order.
