Raclette

In 2009 we tried our new Raclette for the first time. It tasted great but we learned that we'll need to have plenty of cheese on hand when friends join us.

The basic idea is to boil new potatoes. Grill meats and vegetables on the grill and melt raclette cheese under the grill. Break open a few potatoes on your plate, pour cheese over the potatoes and then add a few slices of meat. Eat and repeat.

Ingredients

  1. New Potatoes - boil for 20 minutes
  2. Gherkins
  3. We tried both a Swiss Raclette cheese and a French Raclette. Our favorite was the Swiss Raclette. A little softer and only mildly sharp taste.
  4. Meat - cut into bite size pieces. Try pastrami, ham, salami, sausage, 
  5. Vegetables - yellow onions, green onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, 
  6. Quail Eggs
