Pork & Shrimp Wontons

Garnish with diced green onions or cilantro. Can be served in a steaming bowl of chicken broth or clean with a chili oil dipping sauce.


  • 1 Lb ground pork
  • 1/4 Lb peeled shrimp
  • 2 Tsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbs Chinese rice wine (Shaoshing)
  • 2 Tbs soy sauce
  • 2 Tsp grated fresh ginger root
  • 1 package wonton wrappers (at least 48)


Making Wontons

  1. In a large bowl combine pork, shrimp, sugar, wine, soy sauce and ginger. Blend well. Let stand 25-30 minutes.
  2. Fill a small bowl with water.
  3. Take one wrapper at a time. Use chop sticks to drop a grape size ball in the center. Use your chopsticks to run some of the water along two sides of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper in a triangle and press down. Be careful to remove all any air.Wontons can be frozen for later or used immediately. 


  1. Add wontons to boiling water. Boil for five minutes.
