A simple classic recipe. Start with the basic and feel free to experiment with other spices like mustard seeds, chili flakes, etc. TimePrep time: 10 min Cook time: 5 min Total time: 15 min ServingsYield: 1 jar Ingredients- 1 Lb Pickling Cucumbers
- 1 1/4 Cup Distilled white Vinegar
- 1 Cup Water
- 4 Cloves Garlic (crushed and peeled)
- 3 Tbs Sugar
- 2 Tsp Kosher Salt
- 3 Sprigs Dill
Instructions- In a small pot combine vinegar, water, garlic, sugar and kosher salt. Heat on medium until sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally.
- Quarter cucumbers lengthwise, or slice into 1/8 inch slivers.
- Arrange cucumbers and 3 sprigs of dill in one 32oz Mason jar (or two smaller jars).
- Pour warm brine over cucumbers to cover. Let cool.
- Lid and refrigerate at least four hours or up to two weeks.
