I call this "all aboard" because it seems like elements of all the vinegar barbecue sauce recipes ever thought up can be found in this recipe, which is both vinegar-based, tomato-based, and mustard-based. The splash of white wine gives it a flavor that you don't find in other vinegar barbecue sauce recipes. And if you can find it, add the liquid smoke. It gives this recipe a whole different dimension. Ingredients- 1/4 Cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 Cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 Cup yellow mustard
- 2/3 Cup ketchup
- 1 Tbs freshly ground black pepper
- 1 Tbs red pepper flakes
- 1-2 Tbs salt, to taste
- 2 Cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 1/3 Cup filtered water
- 2/3 Cup white wine
- 1/2. Tsp liquid smoke
Directions- In a medium sized saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes.
